I have started printing with Prusa PC blend filament, which is quite a challenge and I have a related project underway that digs into some detail on the challenges and some ideas for success.

I managed to get the Black Brant completed in time for the annual Midland Sky event hosted my MRC. It was an amazing weekend and I was very pleased to get this rocket in the air!

There are many approaches to managing ejection charges for deployment ranging from rubber glove tips to machined cups. I prefer to use centrifuge tubes, where I cut a small hole in the bottom for the e-match wires and the clip-shut cap makes sure that no powder escapes.

A very common practice for building recovery harnesses in high power rocketry involves various knots. Depending on the type of know used, these can be effective and useful. An interesting, and perhaps surprising issues with knotting these harnesses is that the knot itself introduces a weakness to the material used.

I have been working on nose cone construction for quite a while. With the advent of 3D printing, manufacturing model-size nose cones is well within the reach of most amateur rocket builders and modellers.

I have finally found the time to consolidate all my notes, clippings, projects and other random things into one lump on the internet. As an inaugural post, this should be fairly underwhelming but let me give a summary of what I plan for this site.
